The Nitro 1TB 2.5″ sata drive is manufactured by a company called pureSilicon, you might not of heard of them now but big things could happen for them.
They took the Nitro 1TB SDD to CES last week. Other than a high capacity the nitro also offers low power consumption at 4w active and 0.1w on idle and a write speed of 215MB/s a read speed of 240 MB/s.
You can fit up to 4 of these little SSD drives in the same space that you would fit one 3.5″ drive so that’s 4TB of storage enough for anyone.
There’s one small issue at the moment though the Nitro 1TB is to thick to fit in Laptops and other portables, so you’re probably going to have to wait till the second generation before they’ll be in your laptop.

After our post the other day on why you dont need high capcity flash memory cards for your camera we are now bringing you a 2TB SD card.

Fresh from CES over in the USA comes the latest developments with flash memory. Since 32GB doesnt seem to be enough storage for people anymore this new standard SDXC which stands for Secure Digital Extened Copy and will store upto 2TB. We guess that when they say 2TB they will slowly build up too the 2TB mark and wont just place it straight into the marketplace.

A 2TB SD card could be another 2 years down the line as at the moment 32GB seems to be the largest capacity you can get in any flash media type. How much can you store on 2TB well well around 4,000 images in raw format or 17,000 Jpeg format. Think that should just cover my lifetime of photography and will keep the SD card alive for a long time after other formats come and go.

Recently Canon took a big step in sealing the SD card’s future by swaping from Compact Flash to SD cards for most of its digital cameras. Is this Canon fore seeing the future in the flash memory market or just been a pain.

SanDisk have just released infomation on this Rock Band branded SD card for the Wii. Theres nothing special about the 2GB SD Card apart from the Rock Band Label that it has been gifted.
So if your in love with Rock Band then for around £9 you will have your own memory card for games saves and keep your others for less important Wii games.
Hopefully this Rock Band Memory Card should hit the shelves in spring

1GB isnt really that big anymore storage wise for cameras. But if we told you that from your 8 megapixel camera you can save around 232 photos then you would think twice about that 1GB card. In the old days of a 25 exposure film it would take around 10 films to get that many photos and how many film would you take with you 2 maybe 3.
So using a 1GB memory card now doesnt seem at all small incapacity, over at 7dayshop.com they are doing 1GB memory stick pro duos for £4.99 delivered.

Here is another tiny Bluetooth Dongle priced at under £6 from memorybits.co.uk
just because its small it doesn’t mean it’s going to get cut down in features it supports. The only thing that will be less likely to happen is it getting snapped of in the USB port due to its size.

I guess some of you out there have a lighter and a USB memory stick in your pocket, well why not combine both those items with a USB 8GB Flash Drive Lighter.
